Game of Thrones: Why I planned to read the books

Few days back one of my friend came over. We were talking about GoT TV series and what might happen to the characters in the seasons to come. Suddenly he dropped a big spoiler on me from the books. I knew I he was not a book reader. How do you know that?, I asked. I was going through a bunch a online articles, he said, and I just couldn’t resist. I had to read it. (Which spoiler? “Lady Stoneheart” don’t even Google it)

For the internet is dark and full of spoilers

Honest Trailers – Game of Thrones, at the end of the video it says, “And to my fellow book bros R+L=J right lol if you know what I mean.” Famous theory, heard the names few times before. It didn’t take me long to crack this one.

These are innocent spoilers where you also get part of the blame. Cause no one made you go through online articles to know what R did to L to cause J.

You haven’t the books? People at 9gag.com doesn’t care. This user here tells everyone what happens at the end of season 4.

Cliffhangers

I will have to wait a year more to know what happens after last episode. A year!! Since I can’t control myself from reading online articles that contains vague spoilers from the books. Reading the books are the way to go.

The average ASOIAF book is 1000 pages long. Never been a bookworm. Don’t think it will work for me but will give it a try.

Wish me luck 😛

  1. Understand that there is a lot of foreshadowing in Martin’s writing style, so if you can catch those subtle hints here and there, you will feel deeply rewarded
